400 people weren’t able to watch the Super Bowl last weekend in Dallas, because the NFL sold seats that never actually existed or could be built. Well, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Stratosphere hotel are looking to a) hook those people up and b) help themselves with a pretty cool offer.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel and Tower are offering all 400 ticket holders free passes to three days of NASCAR racing, March 4-6. The hotel will provide free rooms for four attendees, chosen by lottery. The partners hope to attract a third sponsor, an airline that will donate free airfare for several attendees.
This is a publicity stunt, but it’s also a nice offer – especially if they can get someone (Southwest?) to pitch in airfare. It won’t make up for the NFL’s gaffe, but it’s a gesture. With airfare included it’s more than the NFL has done.
