The owner of the Chicago Blackhawks, Rocky Wirtz, is bringing the Stanley Cup to Las Vegas for a whirlwind tour. It will only be in town one day but it will be all over town.
Wirtz will show off the Cup at an invitation-only event at the Gold Spike in downtown Las Vegas because of the Wirtz Beverage partnership with Hsieh, the Downtown Development Project and the Life Is Beautiful Festival scheduled for Oct. 25 to 27. Wirtz Beverage Nevada is the exclusive beverage sponsor of the Life is Beautiful Festival, and Wirtz wants to show his support for downtown Las Vegas and its redevelopment efforts and initiatives such as the music, art and culinary festival.
Then, the Cup heads to the Bellagio for a Monday evening engagement. Pawlak said she will look into the possibility of the Cup making a cameo by the Bellagio’s famous fountains.
I’m not much of a hockey fan but I’ve had my picture taken with the Stanley Cup. There is a lot of history in that trophy. I’d imagine if you’re a Chicago Blackhawks fan in Las Vegas you’ll probably want to check it out.
The article doesn’t outline a specific itinerary for the Stanley Cup so you may want to follow the Review Journal on Twitter for updates on where it is. Actually you may get more information directly from the Chicago Blackhawks official twitter.
