I was bored last week so I decided to spend a day and night in Downtown Vegas mostly on Fremont Street. Surprisingly, I didn’t gamble much but I had a great time anyway. I’ll be sharing highlights throughout the week.
If you know me you know that I don’t drink tequila. The last time I had tequila I vomited on myself. No bueno. Good thing I met up with someone willing to taste test the margarita at Nacho Daddy.
I needed to know if the sign was true or false advertising! With that in mind I had an ice cold beer. It was so cold that there was almost ice forming on the top of my beer.
Unlike previous visits I didn’t go to Nacho Daddy to eat. It was to meet up with Gray from Vegas Solo and have a drink. Unbeknownst to either of us we found Scott from Vital Vegas sitting at the corner of the bar.
A few Dos Equis‘ later for me and a white peach margarita (below) for Gray and we were out the door. Scott had some diet coke thing happening, but that’s not important right now.
I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a margarita served in a mason jar before. Maybe it’s a cool hipster thing that I’m not down with. Gray said that the margarita was very good but can’t say it’s the best since she hasn’t tried them all (yet). It was so good that she started a second margarita before we all drank some water to hydrate before heading out into the 100 degree day.
I don’t know that this is really the best margarita in Vegas but Nacho Daddy is one of my favorite bar/restaurants in Downtown Vegas. We sat at the bar facing air conditioning with fresh air to our backs. While many restaurants, bars and casinos in Vegas freeze you out the temperature control here is great. Fresh air also allows any smoke to escape. This is a major benefit for non-smokers.
Nacho Daddy is great for breakfast (see Vegas Chatter article) and it’s great to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat. Strange enough the one constant complaint I hear about Nacho Daddy is that their nachos aren’t that good. That’s okay, I’ll stick to the street tacos.
