Lucky Penny Cafe Debuts Today And Welcomes Its First Guests

February 24, 2021 – Lucky Penny, the wildly popular cafe concept created by Station Casinos, debuts today at both Red Rock Casino and Green Valley Ranch. To mark the occasion, the Lucky Penny at Green Valley Ranch welcomed one of its very first guests who also happened to be celebrating her 100th birthday. A guest of Green Valley Ranch since opening, Angelina Telesco, born February 24, 1921, celebrated a century of life at the café with friends. The GVR team celebrated the longtime customer by treating her to a delightful breakfast with her girlfriends, a balloon arrangement with the numbers 1-0-0 and flowers.

Also today, The Bake Shop at Green Valley Ranch unveiled the fruits of their creativity with a 30-inch tall “Lucky Penny” cake showing off the restaurant’s eclectic menu in one stunning masterpiece. Kelsey Villamor, cake decorator at the pastry shop, took 12 hours to make the cake that features a cinnamon bun, hamburger, pancakes, steak, eggs and nachos (all edible) made of fondant, gelatin, wafer paper and chocolate. The impressive detailing was perfected by airbrush, hand paint and sculpting to create life like textures. The cake is on display in a glass case in front of Lucky Penny at the property.
