Finally, I always check expedia. They have a lot of sales and often have last minute rooms available. A few weeks ago when I stayed at Golden Gate for the Punk Rock Bowling show with Rancid, all rooms were sold out on their website. Expedia had rooms available for under $70. After researching every hotel downtown thate ndedĀ up as the cheapest room.
There are other options, but these are places I recommend checking whether you have a players card at the property or not. Of course being a players club member will often save you money. Check out the list of players clubs that I have compiled. You can sign up for many online before your trip.
Gold Coast was my training grounds for Las Vegas. Before I could afford staying on the strip this was my casino of choice. In fact, it’s still a favorite place to gamble.
If you follow me on twitter you may have noticed that I played Pai Gow at the Gold Coast the other night for about 5 hours. It was awesome. It’s a very low key casino if you want to just hang out, drink and be dumb.
I’m just providing the info here because it’s easier to share a link with the information than send multiple tweets. Yes, I’m lazy. š Thanks to TheGodfather512 for the inspiration to put together this list. Feel free to add to the list in the comments.

I can’t reco a specific hotel, but I’ve heard that sites like betterbidding.com will help you figure out what hotel you’ll get based on the data provided. So, for example, if priceline or hotels.com or whatever is offering a ‘5 star hotel on the North Strip’, you can be pretty much certain they mean Wynn or Encore. and, of course, the site will also tell you what you should bid.
disclaimer: i’ve never done this myself, I’m merely going by what I read a while back.
My favorite “cheap” place in Vegas is Bill’s. Nice rooms, great staff, and almost always can be had for around $70 a nite…and NO resort fees.
Good option. It never shows up on my total rewards and I always forget about it. Great price for the location.
