I don’t remember how I stumbled across this beautiful video of someone driving through Las Vegas in 1969 but I’m glad I did.
I’m not the most nostalgic Vegas lover but this video struck a nerve with me. I’ve been writing about the changes happening on the Vegas Strip a lot lately and this video goes back before the Vegas Strip became the massive overcrowded (awesome) mess it is today.
Over the weekend a friend who hasn’t visited Las Vegas in 5 years asked me where to get a cheap buffet. There really aren’t any “cheap” buffet’s around the Vegas Strip anymore. Buffet prices are more like fairly priced meals than the bargain they once were. It’s difficult to convey that simply in a text message.
I’ve noticed a lot of people visiting Las Vegas that haven’t been here in so many years. They’re in for a lot of new things. Vegas is nothing like it was 3 to 5 years ago. It’s easy to forget that when you live or visit often. I love seeing Vegas evolve but the changes happening now are a bit overwhelming and making me a bit nostalgic.
