Spring Training is here and it’s time for baseball! This is one of my favorite times of the year. Since I’m so stoked I think it’s time to look forward to the season with MLB futures odds. We’ll look at the futures from sportsbook.com from division winners and then to win the world series. As always, check sportsbook.com for exact odds as they change all the time.
I don’t like to make many futures bets, in part, because I don’t like to have my money tied up for almost an entire year. That being said I decided to make one baseball futures play this year and that’s all.
The Phillies are the obvious favorite to win the National League with their amazing pitching staff. They were also big favorites last year when the San Francisco Giants picked them apart with their great pitching. The Giants are only 7.5-1 to win the NL this year. That’s not long enough odds to me for a team that got hot at the right time. My one and only play in baseball futures went to the Milwaukee Brewers. I saw (and bet) them at Planet Hollywood at 25-1 to win the NL and they’re now 15-1 everywhere. The Brewers added some excellent pitchers and have Prince Fielder playing for a free agent contract next year. They should still have long odds to the Phillies, but I think they have a lot in their favor and will keep my fingers crossed watching one of my favorite teams in baseball all season.

Has the Cardinals number moved with the Wainwright injury? May be a good time to jump on the Reds.
Cards are still 8-1 on sportsbook to win NL. I’m surprised. Brewers are down to 10-1 and Reds are up to 15-1. Guessing that’s due to money bet more than likelyhood of winning.
I like the value of my 25-1 Brewers I got at Planet Hollywood even more now.
