Although you may have seen older men dragging chairs to the craps table to sit before, Atlantic Club Casino has become the first casino to introduce the first craps tables with seating.
“I think it’s notable because it’s innovative thinking in the market. I’ve been throughout the country and I haven’t seen it at other craps tables,” said Cory H. Morowitz, a casino analyst and chairman of Morowitz Gaming Advisors LLC in Galloway Township. “It’s similar to when they started putting chairs at slot machines.”
If you look closely at the photo above, you’ll notice that the only people sitting are close to the camera. The players at the far end of the table are all standing. This photo looks staged for the newspaper. That said, it’s probably a fair assesment of what the popularity of this idea is.
If you play craps you’ve probably seen a few elderly men drag a chair over from a blackjack table so they can roll the dice. There’s nothing wrong with that. They want to play craps but don’t have the strength to stand for too long. I often say how much I enjoy playing craps with the older men. Generally, they know how to place their bets and they roll the dice with finess and they’re not jerks.
I don’t know think seated craps tables will be a game changer on the casino floor at the Atlantic Club Casino (or anywhere else), but I think it’s a smart move for this casino that’s geared towards an older crowd.
Part of me hopes this catches on so that I can still play craps and not be looked at funny when I’m 80 and want to roll dice, but can’t stand.

Well,I guess I am a somewhat elderly gentleman and I don’t think this is a bad idea.
Due to certain healh issues,I have a hard time standing for very long.
On the other hand, this is a break in tradition and I’m all about tradition.
Thing is,I would never roll from a seat, but at a crowded table,it could be 30 mins before the dice get back to you and I would enjoy sitting on my old narrow butt in the meantime.
Hope you are still rollin’ dem bones at 80!
Love the chairs as a way to keep rolling the dice!
I’ve been there recently, and witnessed this…. sort of strange… but, then again, it’s Atlantic Club…
“then again, it’s Atlantic Club…” Haha.
