Get Beer Faster in Las Vegas

Mandalay Bay and 8 other bars & pubs in Las Vegas recently added a product called DRAFTMASTER.  Draftmaster allows beer drinkers to pour their own pints of draft beer.  You buy credits in advance and pour until you can’t pour no more.

International beer distributing company Diageo performed the installation of each table at some of Las Vegas’ most popular locations, including 9 Fine Irishmen, McFadden’s, and Mandalay Bay sports book, among others. The units were installed throughout the week of July 12, and became operationally functional on Friday, July 16.

Novelty, like this, gets me almost every time. It won’t take over for bartenders, and I’m all about getting my beer faster.  This can’t be a bad idea to test as long as the beer is good.  Please keep the macro American beers away.

See the video below to see what I mean about fun and novelty.

  1. The drawback of something like this is that there is no bartender to look at someone, assess their level of drunkenness, and shut them off. Wouldn’t this then increase the number of drunk drivers on the road? Probably not the best idea, IMO.

As per the videos you can’t get beer credits w/o seeing a bartender. I’d imagine they would be watching the patrons like they do with all patrons. I don’t think this is any worse than happy hour specials where bartenders are so busy that they can’t even look at the people they’re serving.

I understand your concern and probably because I’m a responsible adult I don’t think of people abusing something like this. I also don’t live in an area where people have to drive to drink.

    Who knows?

MY concern is that the sports book should be an easy place to get FREE drinks.. I don’t like this whole credit thing. I hope it doesn’t screw up my “let’s go sit in the sports book for a half hour to get a drink or two” system

I’m pretty sure this is only for bars/pubs not sports books. I don’t want anything changing at the sports book.
